Job Description:
Job Summary
A Product Designer explores and solves problems at the intersection of design and engineering. They create and maintain shared UI assets in the Design System, which is used across the family of products and is focused on the foundational elements of all products: design tokens, core UI elements and accessibility. They drive the evolution of the design system toward a framework-agnostic and foundation-focused base of core UI elements used across the business.
Duties/responsibilities
- Design new visual, motion, and interaction design patterns and working with our engineers to implement them
- Design and ship high-quality user interface components and patterns for use across multiple products; maintain and evolve our Figma web UI kit; ensure alignment with design system engineers at all times
- Drive updates and improvements to the design system based on brand alignment, user research (including your own), and product team feedback
- Collaborate frequently with Product Design, Engineering and Brand partners to ensure that we define and evolve a cohesive design language across the entire Pluralsight experience
Minimum qualifications/skills
- Experience in Product Design; portfolio demonstrating interaction and visual design skills
- Experience with (or a passion for) design systems and strong system-level thinking
- Humility and openness to act on design feedback in an iterative design process
- Proficiency in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD.
- Clear communication and solid organizational skills.
- Collaborative work across functions and organizational boundaries
Preferred qualifications/skills
- Experience with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) preferred
- Experience with Service Design work like creating Service Blueprints etc.. preferred.
Education and experience requirements
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of related or equivalent experience.
Physical and Mental requirements
Work is performed in an office (or home office) environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Sedentary work. Repetitive work. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
